Volunteer

Volunteers are one of the true treasures of the Paine Art Center and Gardens.

You will find our enthusiastic volunteers contributing in countless ways throughout the entire estate. Some volunteers warmly welcome guests, others participate in curatorial and archival activities, still others roll up their sleeves and go to work in our enchanting gardens.

Whether you are a people person or a behind-the-scenes type, we have an array of volunteer opportunities to synchronize with your interests and schedule. Share your time and energy with the Paine!

Many Ways to Volunteer

Perhaps, you will choose to work on a membership project, assist with the prairie woodland restoration, spearhead one of our steering committees, plant some blooming bulbs, participate in our monthly educational programs, share your computer expertise or perform vital office tasks. We also welcome your help with receptions and extra-special events such as Festival of Spring, Faire on the Green, Nutcracker in the Castle and serving as a docent for field trips and educational programs. Whether artful gardening is your passion or you are fresh on the scene, the Paine Art Center and Gardens offers an abundance of horticultural events, workshops and lectures designed to educate, inspire and motivate you. Meaningful Ways to Serve

The enchanting Paine gardens are meticulously maintained by an ensemble of devoted volunteers and expert horticultural staff members. We would love to have you join us planting bulbs or leading tours for visiting garden enthusiasts. Let’s have some good, green fun together! Why not take your level of volunteerism a step further by training to become a docent? Docents are volunteer interpreters and teachers who bring people, artifacts and plants together through the Paine’s inspiring art collections and magical gardens.
