Independent Art Activities

On any given weekend, children can be creative with self-directed art activities in the Studio. Find inspiration by exploring the Paine’s current exhibition, mansion or gardens, then let your imagination run wild with coloring, performing on the stage or other activities. Adults can join in the fun, too! Independent Art Activities are included in admission, and free for Paine Members.

Make & Take Crafts

During select weekends, join the Paine’s apprentices in the Studio to make crafts and activities that combine learning with art! When it’s finished, take the masterpiece along to display at home. Make & Take Crafts are included in admission and free for Paine Members.

Field Station

The Field Station is a special area of the gardens with nature activities designed for children and their families. Explore science and literacy activities in the playhouse, or put on a performance with musical instruments and props on the stage. In addition, there is an outdoor digging station, a balance beam, and nature sensory tables for children and their families to discover the joy of outdoor play together.

Field Trips

The Paine offers a variety of opportunities for schools and organizations to enhance their curricula. Field trips are free of charge to school groups, and can be tailored to fit learning targets.
